M A Hadley 9” Casserole COUNTRY Vintage American Pottery. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
This casserole is part of the collection my mother amassed beginning with her wedding in 1964. It is vintage but was seldom used. I am unsure whether it was damaged when my mother bought it or if the damage happened afterward, but as you can see in the photos, there is a sizeable chip out of the interior rim measuring about 2” wide that extends to the underside of the rim. There is also a glaze flake along the edge of the rim just to the left of the chip. Otherwise, there are not cracks or breaks - the piece is still quite solid. The rim of the lid appears to have two flakes out of the unglazed portion of the rim. These are quite smooth and I suspect those were factory flaws - but uncertain. What cracks me up most about this piece is that it looks like the cow’s head has come detached from its body…just funny. Still a good piece to add to your collection - it is very clean and seemingly unused.
